This exciting event is scheduled for four days from September 21st to 24th- 2011 and is a joint initiative of BADCAP (Beaudesert and District Community Arts Projects) , Garden Hill at Lost World Gallery and Museum, and the Lost World Valley Community.
Workshops are planned in a small variety of disciplines including blacksmithing; horning; textiles – dyeing wool, spinning, weaving; bookbinding; whip making, drawing and sculpture.
Tutors have been engaged. The workshops will range from three to four days duration. Details of format and cost have been finalised – see workshop and bookings sections.
This venue is unique, as the Garden Hill at Lost World Gallery and Museum comprises a collection of historic rural sheds and commands spectacular views to the dramatic mountains of Lamington National Park.
A variety of accommodation options will be available nearby in the valley, ranging from pretty B&B cottages and Farmstay to camping.
This event offers an exceptional opportunity to arts and craft workers, to develop skills in their chosen area of expertise over an extended time.
An Exhibition day, open to the public is planned for Saturday September 24th and work from students, tutors and visiting artists will be on display and for sale.
